Bank PO interview after mains: English, Hindi or a mix, what did you choose?

Students in formal clothes discussing together at a table.

For those waiting on PO interview calls: I'm comfortable in Hindi but my English is okay-ish. I can follow everything, but I slow down a lot when I'm nervous.

I've seen people say panels don't mind which language you use as long as your answers are clear, and others say English gives a better impression for an officer role. I'd rather hear from people who actually sat the interview.

  • Which language did you use, and did the panel switch languages during the interview?
  • If you mixed the two, did that come across badly?
  • How did you prepare banking terms: learning definitions, or practising explaining them in your own words?

I'll check my call letter and the notification for the official rules, obviously. I'm more interested in what it felt like in the room.
