Finished all 48 Speak Pro lessons — here's what actually changed for me
Finished the full Speak Pro course last week (took me about 6 weeks, doing lessons a few times a week, not every single day). Wanted to write down what actually changed since I was skeptical going in — figured I'd share for anyone deciding whether it's worth the time.
Where I started
I could hold a conversation fine, but the moment I had to explain something structured out loud — like describing a project, or answering "why do you want this role" — I'd fall apart into "like," "basically," and restarting the same sentence three times. That was the actual problem, not vocabulary.
What the corrected rewrites actually did
This was the part that helped the most, more than I expected. Every lesson shows your answer rewritten properly right next to what you actually said. After maybe 15-20 lessons I started noticing my own mistakes as I was speaking, before the correction even showed up — which I think is the actual sign it's working, not just the score going up.
The harder levels toward the end
Early levels are honestly pretty comfortable. The later ones get noticeably harder — more structured opinion-type prompts, longer responses expected, less room to ramble your way through. Levels 6-7 onward is where I felt like I was actually building a skill instead of just doing an exercise.
Did it help in actual interviews
Did two real interviews after finishing and noticed a real difference — I wasn't restarting sentences as much, and I could explain a project answer in one clean go instead of three attempts. Can't say it's the ONLY reason, I also just did more mock interviews in general during this period, but it clearly contributed.
Got the certificate at the end too, added it to LinkedIn — not sure how much weight that actually carries with recruiters but doesn't hurt. Anyone else finished the full course? Curious if others noticed the same jump around the later levels.
