Same syllabus as JEE Main, a very different exam. What changes, and how to adjust your preparation for it.

Two compulsory papers on the same day, each testing all three subjects.
Single-correct, multiple-correct, numerical and matching-type questions.
Marking changes by question type, including partial marks on some.
Fewer questions, but each one demands multi-concept reasoning.
The paper pattern and marking scheme are announced fresh by the organising IIT each year. Always read the official information brochure. Sanviora is an independent practice platform.
JEE Main rewards speed and accuracy across a broad set of standard questions. JEE Advanced rewards understanding: a single question can combine two or three concepts, and pattern-matching to a familiar question type often fails. If your JEE Main preparation relied on shortcuts, now is the time to go back to first principles.
On multiple-correct questions, marking a wrong option can cost you, while marking only some of the correct options may earn partial credit depending on that year's scheme. Read the marking rules for each section before starting. They are part of the strategy, not small print.
Two papers on one day is a stamina test. At least some of your mocks should be two back-to-back papers with a realistic break, so a strong Paper 1 doesn't fade into a tired Paper 2.
After each Advanced mock, don't just check the right answer. Identify which concept, or which combination of concepts, the question was really testing. That's what will come back in a different form.
Sanviora's JEE Advanced section provides mock papers modelled on the published pattern and marking, plus Build Your Own Test with adaptive difficulty. It lets you push harder questions on the chapters where you most need depth.
The core Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics syllabus overlaps heavily. The difference is in depth and question style: Advanced questions combine concepts and need more reasoning per question.
Yes, for many question types, but the scheme varies by section and year and can include partial marking for multiple-correct questions. Always check the official brochure for the current year.
Most students prepare for both together and then spend focused weeks on Advanced-style problems after JEE Main. Build deeper problem-solving practice throughout, not just at the end.
